In recent years there has been a rapid spread of drug-resistance phenomena by fungi, bacteria and viruses which represents a serious danger to animal and human health. Mattech has always been convinced that preventive treatments are more effective than antibiotic treatments in breeding but, above all, they leave no residuality, neither as regards the animal, nor as regards the environment of the breeding.
The feces of animals treated with conventional drugs are rich in medicinal and chemical residues.
Their dispersion in the environment generates an environmental pollution that exposes farmers, workers and veterinarians to high risks for their health.
To maintain a good quality of the breeding environment, it is important to use essential oils and natural products because they prevent the accumulation of drugs in animal feces by preventing the proliferation of resistant pathogens in breeding.
Essential oils are absorbed through the mucous membranes and skin and enter the lymphatic and bloodstream and then reach the target organs. Essential oils act simultaneously on multiple pathogenic microorganisms and they can be administered within the zootechnical ration or in drinking water. They are also used locally through dermatological solutions for the treatment of skin lesions and as gels or ointments in case of inflammation and trauma. The great interest in the use of essential oils lies in the fact that they are natural molecules of plant origin, extracted from aromatic plants. For these reasons, they are also used in phytotherapy, the practice that makes use of medicinal plants containing, in one or more of its organs (flowers, fruits, seeds, leaves, buds, roots, tubers), substances used for preventive purposes.
In an international context aimed at reducing the use of antibiotics, using natural anti-inflammatory drugs and effective probiotics is a strategic solution to enhance the immune response.
